Portugal and Italy made official the third place in equality in the European Roller Hockey, a competition in which the two teams did not play the decision game, due to cases of infection with the coronavirus.
In a note, the Hockey Commission this Tuesday, the World Skate Europe (WSE) Roller Hockey Commission decided on January 25 to sign the third place “ex public aequo” to the two technical teams, which ended up not contesting the match.
“In view of the uncertainty in the final classification of the 2022 Men’s European Championship, in a meeting held on January 25, 2022, the Roller Hockey Technical Committee of “World Skate Europe” decided to assign the third place “ex aequo” to the two teams national teams, so medals for third place will be sent to each Federation”, says the WSE.
On the occasion, in the competition that took place in Paredes, João Rodrigues and Henrique Magalhães tested positive in the early afternoon of Saturday of November 20, the day of the final games of the European, and later it was also Hélder Nunes who became infected.
