Sugar Mizzy February 22, 2022

Between 6pm and 8am and also for two days, at the end of June and beginning of July, Mouraria, Baixa and Chiado could be the stage for filming for a Netflix production. The production company ‘Ready to Shoot’ Using the effects of fire, collisions and car and motorcycle chases, among others, something that has not been seeking from the Parish Council of Santa Maria Maior. However, Carlos Moedas adopts another position.

“We have to make Lisbon a great European reference and a true city in the world. Keeping our essence, our identity that differentiates us so much from other cities”, began by writing the Mayor of Lisbon (CML) on his official Facebook page. “That essence is the people, it’s our streets and our alleys, it’s the parishes and the unique light that illuminates Lisbon. This is the time to give people the opportunity to relaunch their lives, relaunching culture, economy and innovation”.

“Having large international organizations interested in projecting the essence is an opportunity that Lisbon cannot be reserved. Only in this way can we defend those who can live and who can offer a perspective of hope for a better quality of life”, to advance and advance in the municipality. “Count on me to always defend the interests of Lisboners and our Lisbon”.

No to “subservience” to “fashion cultural empires” In the social network, but in the previous one, the president of the social board of Santa Maria Maior made a point of opposing the possible realization of the filming, making it clear that the Executive of this body abusive of the public space provided for in a night filming plan”.

From the point of view of Miguel Coelho, who has been with the board for eight years, this front of the will (…) in the quality of life, in the right to rest and tranquility in the right to mobility of the negative residents of the contemplated areas “, emphasizing that the same it will cause “great discomfort for the resident population, especially for families with children and the elderly”.

“The right to rest of the residents is at stake, as well as the rights of movement, access and parking, as a result of the massive occupation that the filming can include”, wrote the socialist, recognizing that the junta “does not have, within its powers, ” legal, powers to prevent this filming as they are available”, since whoever owns the CML holders, and regretting “that Mr. Mayor of Lisbon, Eng.º Carlos Moedas, has already made his charm for his realization, without first knowing the opinion or opinion of the Parish Council”.

Finally, he pointed out that “it is available to find a reasonable, but not for the elaborated solution, a posture of different subservience that is proposed by the ‘cultural empires of fashion’”, stressing that “do not fail to express your displeasure with the of the parish in a ‘film studio’”.
