James hero of Monaco
Thanks to a 3-point shot from Mike James six seconds from the end, Monaco won 79-76 against Kazan on the 20th day of the Euroleague and climbed to seventh place.
This is a major victory for AS Monaco! The Roca Team got rid of Kazan, whom they had already beaten in the Eurocup final last spring, and they performed a superb operation in the standings, climbing to seventh place. To stay in the Euroleague next season, the Principality club must play in the quarter-finals this season and if they qualify, they can say thank you to Mike James. The American leader (or rear) was indeed decisive in this victory against the Russian club, with 25 points (4/9 at 2pts, 3/11 at 3pts, 8/8 on free throws) and 7 assists on the clock, and especially the 3-point shot for victory 6 seconds from the end. The Monegasques started the match well and led 22-19 at the end of the first quarter, then Kazan equalized (28-28) in the second, before taking on a new shine and finding themselves trailing 44-36 at halftime. -time.

Monaco gets scared
The Roca Team soared in the third quarter to lead 53-40 and maybe win the game, but they got scared late in the game. Despite a 9-0 to start the last quarter (70-55), Monaco then conceded a 15-2 in four minutes (74-72). OJ Mayo, the former NBA player, brought the two teams to 76-76 on a 3-point shot with 24 seconds left, but it was without counting on Mike James, who gave the victory to his team in shifting to the left corner. In addition to James, Alpha Diallo (11pts, 9rbds) and Donatas Motiejunas (11pts, 10rbds) also earned this thirteenth victory in 26 matches. Eight games from the end of the regular season, Monaco is therefore seventh, but with only one victory ahead of ninth-placed Fenerbahçe, who have played four games less. Nothing is done for the Red and Whites, who will precisely benefit the Turks on Friday during the next day.
Monegasque markers: Westermann (2), Thomas (7), Diallo (11), Motiejunas (11), Ouattara (4), Andjusic (9), Hall (10), James (25)
