“So thousands of Alpini will invade Rimini”

MARIO GRADARA – “After two consecutive years of postponements due to a pandemic, we are ready to peacefully invade Rimini and San Marino”. This is the “declaration of war” by Sebastiano Favero, president of Ana, the National Alpine Association, less than three months before the 2022 Gathering, scheduled from 5 to 8 May on the Romagna Riviera and on Mount Titano.

Let’s start with the numbers? “We expect that, over the four days, about 200 thousand people, including Alpine troops and their families, will be involved, for something like 5-600 thousand overnight stays in accommodation facilities. And consequently there will be an important induced activity for the territory, estimated at 2-300 million ”.

How will the event be inaugurated? “Opening ceremony on May 5 at the Rimini stadium, with paratroopers’ shows, and various collateral events”.

And then? “Friday morning inauguration of the Citadel, in the Fellini Park in front of the Grand Hotel, with our field hospital and the Civil Protection area. In the afternoon parade of historical flags for the 150th anniversary of the troops of the Alpine troops, in the streets of the center of Rimini. Saturday, institutional morning in San Marino, with the arrival of about 30 foreign sections, 1,500 people in total, from North and South America, Europe, Australia.
