Toulouse. The new features of the Tisséo network for 2022
Several new features are expected on the Tisséo public transport network in the Toulouse conurbation in 20022. This is particularly the case with the launch of the Téléo cable car.
Each year brings its share of changes. This year will be no exception to the rule. Thus, several new features are expected on the Tisséo public transport network in the Toulouse conurbation during the year 2022. The Journal Toulousain reviews them.
The launch of the Téléo cable car
This is the biggest novelty of the year 2022 on the Tisséo network. It is also, without a doubt, the most awaited. The Téléo should be launched in May. It will be the longest urban cable car in France. It will connect, in 10 minutes, the Oncopole to the Paul-Sabatier University via the University Hospital of Rangueil.
“We are coming to the final stage. At the end of March, the companies should hand over the keys to us. We will then launch the bench-running phase for around four weeks”, explained the president of Tisséo, Jean-Michel Lattes, about this project initiated in 2016. “We can hope for an inauguration at the beginning of May”, he said, taking tweezers.
A new Lineo on the Tisséo network north of Toulouse
A new Linéo must be introduced for the start of the school year in September 2022. This is Linéo 10 in the Fenouillet, Saint-Alban, Aucamville and La Vache sectors. It should take over the stops for lines 60, 69 and 113. This will lead to a reorganization of the bus network in this part of the Toulouse conurbation.
The pedestrianization of the rue de Metz
After rue Alsace-Lorraine or rue Bayard, rue de Metz will also be pedestrianized in the city center of Toulouse. The main objective of this project is to limit traffic. In particular that of the vehicles which use this artery only to cross Toulouse. Only delivery people, traders and local residents will be able to use this route, as crossing terminals will be installed.
This will cause changes to the routes of several bus lines. Line 44 and lines 7 and 9 are concerned.
