PISA

The B the day after – Pisa must treasure the mistakes of the first half against Vicenza – L’Arno.it

Sugar Mizzy February 17, 2022

– Andrea Cosimi –

Oh yes, even though it seems to affirm that we must start from the extraordinary second half against Vicenza, I instead am clearly of the idea that we must absolutely treasure the nightmare first half that compromised the possibility of winning. Despite playing against the last in the standings, the worst defense in the league after Pordenone, the approach was totally wrong, tactically and psychologically.

In a game that was admittedly ambitious only to think about winning the initial choice of Hermannsson and not Birindelli on the band it is not acceptable: the excellent Icelandic, rather, could possibly be evaluated to let one of the power stations catch his breath.

A midfield so initially structured also saw us for the first forty minutes often outnumbered and extremely vulnerable in the opponent’s counterattacks. Fortunately, in the second half, the changes made have returned the balance.

Let’s be clear, let’s hold on tight Mr. D’Angelo, I say this for the avoidance of doubt, we speak only of detailed criticisms. But it is not part of my way of thinking to deny the evidence, the lack of victory with Vicenza has clear origins in the first half, which is soft and tactically very questionable.

By dint of draws, Pisa therefore slipped to fourth place two points from crazy Cremoneseone point from the second Lecce and Brescia, and with an advantage reduced to just six points on the ninth place, occupied by Ascoli at an altitude of 36.

In the first four days of the second round we only faced teams from the right side of the table, scoring just four points compared to twelve in the first round. Too bad, with a few fewer mistakes and a little more luck, now I could have been in the lead alone.

In the days remaining before the end of the regular season we will play it doubtfully, the team is strong, it just needs to recover that overall capacity without the performances that characterized the first part of the championship. Only in the second half with the Vicenza that Pisa has been reviewed, we hope it is the beginning of a new winning phase.

So Saturday at 2 pm we will play in Monza, the Brianza are one point behind the Neroazzurri and are among the absolute favorites for direct promotion: it is the authentic key match of the twenty-fourth day.

The return of the curve of which I fully share the reasons, even if I consider its presence fundamental to push our Pisa. It is news of these hours that the capacity could already go back immediately to the 75% from this weekend, we hope, because watching the Italian stadiums and then seeing the English or American ones on TV really makes one doubt the restrictive decisions that the Italian government continues to take regarding the management of the covid emergency which, now practically everywhere in the world , it happens in quite another way.

Come on Pisa, let’s all resume the journey together!
