San Marino, 2 thousand euro bounty on the dog killer – Chronicle
San Marino, February 17, 2022 – A size of 2 thousand euros for those who provide useful information for the capture of the dog killer. Seven poisoned animals (three of them unfortunately did not make it) after ingesting mouthfuls hidden in the park of Monte Cerreto. A small massacre, in the face of which the Aidaa (Italian Association for the Defense of Animals and the Environment) has decided to take the field. The announcement came just in these hours. The association is ready to offer an economic reward to anyone “with his declarations made in an official form to the police of the state of the Titan will help to identify, capture and definitively convict the person responsible or responsible for the poisonings”. The alarm was reported to volunteers about a week ago by Apas (a company that deals with the protection of animals on Mount Titano), after its volunteers had found some poisoned baits in the grass of the park of Monte Cerreto.
For several days, signs placed in the park have been warning the people, warning them of the possible presence of the morsels, which if eaten could be some lethal for four-legged friends. This is what happened to at least three dogs, who went through excruciating agony. Four specimens, despite having ingested the bait, managed to survive. The Apas also posted some photos of the poisoned morsels so that dog owners, walking with their pets, can recognize them. “If they are found – they explain from the association – we remind you not to touch them because of their high toxicity, but to immediately notify the police. at the number 0549-887777“. Also from Apas, a request has arrived regarding” the installation of cameras “in the park area, to prevent future attempts at emulation. The events have plunged San Marino back into a nightmare that was believed to have been forgotten. Ten years ago there were about thirty cases of poisoning in various public parks of the Republic: 23 dogs who lost their lives because of a killer who remained unknown all this time, despite the investigations carried out by the Gendarmerie.
