Race in balance for three quarters at the “San Marcellino” in Florence: Amatori Savona fights but the Tuscans win
Amatori Savona suffers the second consecutive defeat in the league after the one gained last week at PalaPagnini against Blue Lizard Capri.
The seventeenth day of the South Group of Serie A2 sees APS and Female Basketball Florence, a team that occupies the top positions of the standings and reduces from the away defeat against San Salvatore Selargius.
The match opens in the name of balance, with the two teams capable of responding blow for blow: the first to sign up on the scoresheet is Tyutyunzhieva with a shot from the average, Florence draws the score with Rossini’s two free throws. The Bulgarian APS player follows up on her excellent approach to the game with one stop and two other centers; the Florentine, however, did not give up and hooked the girls of coach Dagliano on 10 equal to half of the quarter. Savona continues to grind the game by alternating reasoned actions with personal initiatives and Paleari, Salvestrini and Zanetti try to get the Ligurians to put their heads ahead. The coldness behind the free throw line of the Florentines means that the partial ends with only two points: score 16-18.
The second quarter follows the false line of the first, with Amatori Savona careful in defense and quick in restarting on the counterattack when possible and Florence that with a very orderly circulation of the ball, tries to free its guns from 3 points. Thus, after the centers of Ceccardi and Paleari for the visiting team, De Marchi’s triples arrive for the Florentine players who are over by 5 points in the middle of the set.
The many mistakes to the free throws nullify several well-orchestrated actions of the APS while for Florence Marta Rossini begins to light up (28 points in the end for her).
Paleari’s baskets and Zanetti’s penetration are the result of the time-out called by coach Dagliano: a couple of minutes of high-intensity play in free time for the Savonese to hang up their opponents and close the first in absolute equality (35-35 ).
