The Head of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, Pedro Farrom of the Portugal Mission, praised “the usual approval”, while the president of the Portuguese Olympic Committee (COP), José Manuel Constantino chose the “positive results”.
“In terms of results, it was the best ever”, stressed Pedro Farromba, in statements to the Lusa agency, this Thursday.
The president of the Federation of Winter Competitions of Portugal (FDIP) stressed that the three, who competed in five alpine and goal backgrounds, completed national sports events, which will also “improve” the results of the last editions.
“I believe that with the work that has been done, we have created the conditions for more and better Olympic missions in the future. “For the first time different athletes in competition was already an important step. The official informed that the report of the Olympic mission is expected soon, scheduled in April or May to deliver to the COP and the Portuguese Institute of Sports and Youth (IPDJ) the Olympic preparation project for Cortina2026 and hopes that “by the end of the year” cycle combined with the FDIP the designation for the next one, so that the athletes have as much advance notice as conditions for their preparation.

At the Beijing 2022 Winter Games, which run until Sunday, in China, Portugal represented in alpine skiing by Vanina Oliveira, 43rd in the giant slalom and disqualified in the slalom, and by Ricardo Brancal, 37th in giant and 39th. in slalom, while in cross-country skiing José Cabeça finished in 88th place in the 15 km classic style.
