VILLENEUVE-LEZ-AVIGNON “Grey zone”: shooting of a short film on violence among adolescents
On Saturday February 12, the cameras moved to the Château Pointu, a place well known to walkers in Villeneuve-lez-Avignon which offers a magnificent panorama of the Rhône. This setting was chosen by the film crews of “Zone grise”, a short film which will be broadcast on Arte, produced by “Folle Allure”.
Florian Kuhn, born in Avignon, is directing this film. It will be shot in total over seven days between Villeneuve and the city of the Popes, with the participation of around forty young local extras. The two main roles are attributed to Marie Ros and Léo Mazo.
But what is “Gray Zone” about? Florian Kuhn wants to explore through this short film “ the muted, normalized, everyday violence among adolescents who do not yet know where to place the cursor of the acceptable“. We follow the story of 14-year-old Cynthia, who follows Mika, a handsome, inattentive and brutal boy, with whom she is in love in an escapade that will lead to forced sex.
Through this story, Florian Kuhn explores all the perks that can disturb consent. All the hesitations, the pressures, the influence… The director does not want a ” teen romantic expression “but to recommend” anchor “the short film in reality so that” everyone can identify with it“.
