Toulouse: Jacques Rocca, an ex-Airbusian in the legislative battle
Long director of communications for Airbus, the Toulousain Jacques Rocca presents himself with the centrist label.
Retired from Airbus since August 2021 after a long career, in particular as director of communication, creator in the wake of a public relations company, the Toulousain Jacques Rocca, 60, whose name, because of this career, will speak to many, embarked on the battle for the legislative elections of June 12 and 19 in the 1st constituency (center of Toulouse, Blagnac, Cornebarrieu, Beauzelle, Mondonville). “I have the time” and above all “the desire to get involved” at a time of “deep deterioration” in the relationship between citizens and politicians. “Perhaps I have added value,” he pleads, lifted by the sight of an assembly that has become “a recording room” when it is necessary, sometimes, “to be able to hold your own”.
This arrival in politics is in fact “a return” for the one who defines himself as “a baby Chirac”, ex-militant in the RPR in the 80s and 90s and former parliamentary attaché of the Lotois deputy Alain Chastagnol before his arrival at what is then called Aérospatiale.
Today, Jacques Rocca is a “centrist”. He feels “neither on the right nor on the left” or of both camps at the same time, depending on the subject. He has been a member for four years of the centrist Alliance created by Jean Arthuis, a formation that is a member of the presidential majority. However, Jacques Rocca does not apply to date for the investiture of this majority. He does not exclude it but “waits to see” the program of the future candidate Macron and what he will offer his partners. The former Airbusian, who presents himself on the 31premiere.fr site, first intends to make his own voice heard.
