“Amazement and anger” are the words used by Allan Bertu, of the CGT union, after the discovery on Monday February 14, 2022 in the morning of a far-right tag on the front door of the House of Trade Unions in Caen (Calvados). On Wednesday, February 16, the tag was cleaned up.
“A far-right group active in the Caen agglomeration”
“We think it was done over the weekend. We are going to file a complaint on Thursday February 17 on behalf of the CGT in any case ”. If the tag is not named signed by its authors, the unions evoke in a joint press release “a far-right group, particularly active in the Caen conurbation”.
This is not the first time that this same type of tag, signed by the GUD (Union Defense Group) this time, is found on the fronts of buildings: in October 2020 on buildings of the University of Caen, CROUS or again on a wall of the Malherbe high school or even in June 2021 on the PCF headquarters in Caen, a few days before the 77th anniversary of the D-Day landings.
