The April election will be key not only for Hungary but also for Central Europe
The Hungarian electoral system is one of the most transparent and least influential in Europe, according to one of the latest reports from the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) in an interview with Democrat, the weekly Democrat.
Speaking to the paper, Zoltán Kovács, Secretary of State for International and Relations, assessed the communication as an “order” for the OSCE to send a full-scale observer mission to the Hungarian elections in April.
He explained that the January organization announced by György Soros, operating in twenty Hungarian countries, made it clear that he was ordering this observation from the OSCE. He said they would not mind if the observers came, they would be happy to show them anything, they had nothing to hide, “no tricks were to be expected.”
He asked the OSCE to “conduct its activities objectively in accordance with existing procedures, making it impossible to apply the double standard.”
Zoltán Kovács also talked about that
The elections in Hungary in April, like all elections in the member states, will have a major impact on the functioning of the European Union, as they are the democratically elected politicians who play a key role in the work of the Union’s institutions.
He added that the April election will be key not only for Hungary but also for Central Europe, as this 60-80 million block is now an alternative to the Brussels policy within the EU.
The Secretary of State was asked about the Skype conversations published in Magyar Nemzet in February, and they were conducted with representatives of several organizations affiliated with György Soros. According to the Democrat summary, the interviewees admitted that they do indeed measure right-wing, civilian government in general against the activities of socialist, liberal forces.
Zoltán Kovács told the weekly that such sentences should not be uttered by independent, authoritative leaders of the organizations working for social affairs, enlightenment, participants or journalists who talk to them.
He says that the Hungarian government’s main task is to inform its citizens about the reality in as many forums and surfaces as possible.
He said that they trust that the Hungarian electorate is not stupid, that they cannot be deceived by lies, and that they judge the value of the political activities of the Fidesz-KDNP on the basis of reality and decide whether this government will govern Hungary in the future.
