It’s done, an unwanted file in Switzerland!
As expected, the AS Monaco has just finalized the departure of one of its unwanted defenders. He was transferred to Switzerland at FC Basel.
AS Monaco Mercato: Strahinja Pavlovic loaned to FC Basel
He is undoubtedly one of the disappointments of AS Monaco. Arrived at the Rocher club in January 2020 from Partizan Belgrade, against a check for 10 million euros, Strahinja Pavlovic did not manage to make his mark at the ASM. The Serbian defender has then chained loans in recent years.
In January 2021, Strahinja Pavlovic had been sent to Cercle Brugge in the form of a loan in order to benefit from more playing time. A wise choice, since the 24-year-old player has chained meetings in the Belgian championship, hoping to return to the AS Monaco this winter. But the Serb will finally continue his career away from the Principality, since he has just been loaned this time to FC Bale with an option to buy. “The FC Basel defense is growing – in the truest sense of the word: Serbian central defender Strahinja Pavlovic joins FC Basel on loan from AS Monaco until the summer of 2022. FCB has the opportunity to exercise its option ‘purchase’can we read in the press release of the club.
Pavlovic’s first words in his new colors
Under contract until June 2024 with AS Monaco, Strahinja Pavlovic played about ten matches with the Monegasque club where he was barred by tough competition from Badiashile, Maripan, Disasi and Matsima. This loan will therefore be an opportunity for him to relaunch his career. And the main concerned does not hide his joy at joining FC Basel. He can’t wait to start in his new colors.
“I am very happy to be here… I am physically very strong, I have a good quality with the ball and I am always ready to give 100% for the team (…) I am a leader, on and off the pitch, I like to support the players”he told the club’s official website.
