Winter Olympics curling LIVE: Team GB meets Sweden when the bobsled team crashes
Kamila Valieva: Russia can compete in the Winter Olympics, the court, despite failed drug testing
Russian figure skater Kamila Valieva will return to the ice for the women’s short program, despite a court ruling that she tested positive for a banned substance. The 15-year-old is still the subject of disciplinary proceedings but has been allowed to compete by a panel of three arbitrators appointed by the sports arbitration tribunal, as Russia tries to get a clean sweep of medals in the event. If she wins the event, for which she is an overwhelming favorite, the IOC has said she will not be honored in a medal ceremony until an investigation into the doping allegations is complete.
Elsewhere, Chinese Eileen Gu, who won gold last week in big air, took silver in the ladies’ freeski slopestyle. Team GB’s wait for a medal continues, however, as Kirsty Muir and Katie Summerhayes finished eighth and ninth, respectively. It was another blow when James Woods was forced to withdraw from the men’s qualifiers. However, there was better news for GB’s curlers, as Eve Muirhead led her side to victory in a decisive draw against Japan.

Men’s antenna qualifiers
There is bad news for Team GB in the men’s aerial qualification as Lloyd Wallace staggers on his landing and a score of 71.94 means he will not advance to the final.
But it is guaranteed to be something of an outrage, after world setter and two-time world champion Maxim Burov was also eliminated after a disappointing second run.

Team GB’s curlers face undefeated Sweden
There is still plenty of action to keep track of as we approach the end of day 11 in Beijing, including Team GB’s curling match against Sweden, which will start shortly.
Bruce Mouat’s team can seal their semi-final place with a victory but face very strong opposition from the Swedes, led by reigning world champion Niklas Edin.
“I am very excited about playing Sweden,” said Mouat. “They have a lot of Olympic experience and that’s what we play for, the big games and they will be one of the biggest.”
“I think we have a really good track record against them this season. We have played them quite a few times, so we just need to get out and play well, which I feel we do.
“They do the same because they are undefeated so far. We will try to do what we do best, which is to play very technical loss shots, so we’ll see what we get tomorrow.”

Disaster for Jarls Magnus Riiber
There is another great moment of late drama, this time in Nordic Combined.
Jarls Magnus Riiber, who was the favorite to win the race before he was forced to spend two weeks in isolation, has not had time to train properly on the track and is wrong! He went towards the finish line instead of starting the second lap and when he realized that, his 44 second lead has been decimated.
It is Riiber’s compatriot Joergen Graabak who benefits from the mistake. He rolls in the leading pack right at the finish line to pinch gold, while compatriot Jens Luraas Oftebro pinched silver. Akito Watabe from Japan takes bronze.
