Weather, Meteorological Institute | Has sent a warning for snowdrifts

Sugar Mizzy February 15, 2022

The outlook will continue to vary across the country over the next few days with upcoming rain, snow showers and strong winds. Normal temperatures are forecast throughout the country.

The weather forecast, on the other hand, will not be as dramatic as in the United Kingdom and Denmark, which will have strong winds at the orange level. Since much of the low pressure will not hit Norway, it will still be a good deal of stay and sun throughout the country.

How much sun it will be will vary from place to place. On Tuesday, periods of nice weather are expected in Eastern Norway through the night until Wednesday.

Strong low pressures are on their way to Great Britain and Denmark. Wednesday night “Dudley” hits Britain, they have out orange warning for wind. On Friday, it’s “Eunice”‘s turn, still uncertain, but this low pressure could be strong. “Eunice” continues towards Denmark. pic.twitter.com/c9ClTPCh58

Remember to check the directions

Magnus Ovhed, meteorologist on duty at the Meteorological Institute, tells about the area with a good deal of snow and rain has passed Eastern Norway. The low pressure that came on Wednesday night is again on its way to Eastern Norway. A good deal of rain and snow is expected in the Inland. In Eastern Norway, there will be a lot of rain in coastal areas. The precipitation will come as snow in high-lying areas.

Towards the weekend, most of the low pressures will come and go in orbit south of southern Norway. The low pressures will hit Sørlandet without the precipitation affecting Norway to any great extent, he informs.

He points out that if you are going up the mountain or in higher areas where there may be snow, it is advantageous to check the directions before you travel.

Danger of snowfall

The meteorologist points out that there will be a lot of rain in Western Norway with periodic westerly winds. A lot of wind and weather is expected, especially in Rogaland and Møre og Romsdal. In Rogaland, there will be most rain and snow in high-lying areas.

The room is expected between five and 25 cm of snow.

– Warning has been sent out about the amount of snowfall in Rogaland on Tuesday evening and beyond Wednesday. In higher areas, there is a risk of snowdrifts, Ovhed informs.

We have a yellow warning for snow in Rogaland. From tonight until Wednesday evening there is locally expected 5-25 cm of snow, in the mountains there may be more. It can be locally difficult driving conditions, in the mountains snowdrifts can reduce visibility.

Snow and sleet on the coast

Further north in the country, both today and tomorrow there are opportunities for some snow and sleet on the coast, both in Trøndelag and Møre og Romsdal.

– Although there will be no heavy rainfall in Nordland, a lot of wind with a strong gale is expected over the next 24 hours. Offshore winds can cause it to blow unevenly in areas, especially inland. Even if it gets a little sunny in Western Norway, you can still get a glimpse of the sun, says Ovhed.

The meteorologist emphasizes that a lot of snow showers are expected in Finnmark in the coming days. Danger warning for snowdrifts expires on Tuesday. In Troms there will be stays and a little rain in the next few days.
