Admirer Toulouse from the sky, all for the price of a metro ticket? It will be possible in a few weeks! The Téléo urban cable car, which rests Paul Sabatier metro station to the Oncpole, via the Rangueil hospital, should be put into service at the beginning of May.
This announcement was made by the President of Tisséo Engineering, Jean-Michel Lattes, who gave the press a tour of the site on Monday February 14, 2022.
With its three kilometer route, Téléo will be the longest urban cable car in France, far ahead of Brest (400 meters). Its commissioning was initially planned for 2021 but the big departure was finally pushed back a few weeks, in particular due to the Covid crisis.
The testing phase has begun
Nothing to shower the enthusiasm of the mayor of toulouse Jean-Luc Moudenc: “The construction of this cable car is a real technological feat, it’s a source of pride for Toulouse residents. We encountered quite a few difficulties, but we knew how to overcome them “, rejoiced the city councilor.
With the bulk of the work completed, the Téléo line will enter the home straight before commissioning: that of the tests and inspections. The cable car will make a white run dunes four week duration from March. The opportunity for Tisséo staff to train in this new mode of transport.
Internal, independent, private but also public: the controls will be numerous in the coming weeks. The aim is to guarantee the safety of travelers using the cable car. We hope that the Téléo line will quickly become part of the habits of Toulouse residents and Oncopole employees.

A journey time of 10 minutes
Once commissioning has been completed, the travel time between the Oncopole and the Paul Sabatier station will be only 10 minutes. Pricing will be the same as for the entire Tisséo network and a parking relay will see the light of day near the Oncopole. It will be possible to carry bicycles in the gondolas, which should be very useful, especially in the uphill direction.
A fifteen gondolas circulara on the course with a frequency of one pass every 1min30 in rush hour. About 1500 passengers can be transported per hour in each direction. Téléo has also been designed to operate in winds of up to 108 km/h.
More … than a few weeks to wait for Toulouse residents before being able to enjoy one of the most beautiful views of Toulouse!
