Mercato: Inter Milan is positioning itself in the quest for Paulo Dybala.
According to reputable Italian journalist Rudy Galetti, FC Barcelona and Inter Milan are closely monitoring Paulo Dybala’s situation. The 28-year-old Argentina international will soon resume talks with Juventus over a new deal, with his current one expiring in the summer transfer window.
Paulo Dybala has established himself as one of Serie A’s finest strikers since arriving in Italy a decade ago, welcoming Palermo from Instituto AC. But it was after leaving Palermo to join Juventus in July 2015 that the Argentinian went up several notches in his game.
The 28-year-old Argentina international has had several ups and downs in Turin over the past six and a half years, while amassing a tally of 112 goals and 48 assists in 280 appearances. But Dybala’s future at Juventus is uncertain as he has entered the final six months of his contract, and his situation is attracting the attention of FC Barcelona and Inter Milan.
The Barcelona links could stem from the uncertainties limiting Ousmane Dembele’s future. The Frenchman looks set to leave Camp Nou as a free agent, with his exit likely to open up a place in the Blaugrana’s attacking unit.
With Memphis Depay also facing an uncertain future at Barcelona, Dybala’s addition could be much needed. But FC Barcelona will face stiff competition from Inter Milan in the race to sign the 28-year-old Argentina international on a free transfer.
Interest from Inter Milan is a bit surprising as recent reports have proven that Alexis Sanchez could receive a new contract. But if the former FC Barcelona striker came to leave, the Serie A champions might need a new attacking reinforcement. Dybala is therefore an option to consider, especially with Edin Dzeko in the twilight of his career.
Apart from FC Barcelona and Inter Milan, several Premier League clubs have also been linked with the Juventus striker. But the Serie A giants are scrambling to tie the 28-year-old down to a new contract and have already recontacted his inner circle ahead of possibly resuming contract renewal negotiations this month.
