Drivers have to drive on Rašínovo nábřeží in Prague to repair the track on the embankment
The reconstruction will last until April 1. Cars on the embankment will run separated from pedestrians by concrete blocks in the first phase of repairs until March 8. They will drive through the streets of Podskal in the opposite direction. Reconstruction costs are about 50 million crowns. In the past, the Transport Company (DPP) has already repaired the line from Výtoň towards Podolská vodárna.
The track along the Podskalské embankment will be completely repaired for the first time in 43 years. Until now, DPP has only carried out partial repairs here. On the more than half a kilometer long line, the current one will be completely completed, including outdated methods of placing the tracks in BKV concrete panels. It will be replaced by a modern route with anti-vibration mats and anti-noise measures. The surface will then be made of asphalt.
In the first phase of repairs, the drivers get down on the embankment at Palackého náměstí at the mouth of Dřevná Street and get off at the limnigraph on Výton. The car belt will be separated by concrete barriers at all times and reduced to a maximum of 30 kilometers per hour. She would close the pedestrian stairs to the embankment. But people will be able to walk and ride bikes in the part along the river. Traditional farmers’ markets will move more upstream closer to the railway bridge and Vyšehrad.
In addition to the line itself, the Výtoň and Palackého náměstí stops on the waterfront will be modified. New crossings will be created and the tram islands on Výton will be extended at the request of the primary school in Vratislavova Street.
