We can learn about the history of the churches of bygone eras in the Déri Museum

Archaeologist László D. Szabó is waiting for those interested at the February meeting of the lecture series entitled Debrecen – The Archaeological Heritage of the Cívisváros.

The theme of the lecture is the most important buildings of the villages on the outskirts of the city, the churches. László D. Szabó shows the process of church building, they review the former churches with the help of contemporary written sources.

Archaeologically excavated churches are being revived using digital technology. The lecture presents a church with a special floor plan, which is very rare in the Carpathian Basin, so far a total of four specimens are known.

The meeting will begin on Friday, February 25, at 5 p.m., in the Ballroom of the Déri Museum. Participation is free, the program requires the presentation of a security card and the wearing of a mask.
