Toulouse. Airbus finalizes two great orders for 48 new aircraft

good news for Airbus ! On Monday February 14, 2022, the European aircraft manufacturer finalized a new order for 20 A220 aircraft from the lessor Aviation Capital Group (ACG). It follows an initial agreement for 40 A320neo Family aircraft, including five A321XLRs, announced in December 2021.

According to the manufacturer, the A220, ideal for regional operations and long distances, offers a “50% reduced noise footprint and up to 25% lower fuel consumption per seat than previous generation aircraft, as well as than NOx emissions (nitrogen oxide, editor’s note) approximately 50% lower than industry standards”. Performances that seduced ACG:
“Our airline customers will appreciate the environmental friendliness, passenger comfort and competitive operating savings that the A220 offers.”
With this new agreement, Airbus announces that the total number of firm orders for the A220 amounts to over 700.
A second official order
But the good news does not stop there… In the process, on Monday February 14, the aircraft manufacturer also confirmed the order for 28 devicesincluding 20 A320neo and eight A321neo, from Jazeera Airways.
“By taking the A320neo and A321neo versions, we will have great flexibility to expand our network to medium and long-haul destinations from Kuwait, giving passengers more choices to travel and enjoy popular destinations as well as underserved destinations” , proof Rohit Ramachandranthe general manager of the Kuwait-based airline.
