The fire brigade of the Prague – Dubeč district will have a new armory, it will also serve as an evacuation center for 100 people POŽÁRY.cz – the focus of hot news
On Saturday, February 12, 2022, a fire station was ceremoniously opened in the Prague – Dubeč district. Historically, this is the first time that firefighters in Dubč have their own fire station. For the previous 143 years, the Dubeč fire brigade was founded in 1879, serving the Dubč fire brigade in more or less suitable temporary facilities.
The total cost of the construction was 40 million crowns without the necessary ancillary works and equipment. The city district received funds for the construction from the City of Prague, as part of the concept of building fire brigades in the capital.
The tender for the construction contractor was won by the company Starstav, sro, the construction took place from 2019 to December 2021, the opening was delayed due to the extension of the approval of service roads and networks.
The fire station is designed for the operation of fire protection units, but also as a training center for Prague volunteer firefighters and for the general public and in the whole range as an evacuation center with a capacity of 100 guests, including the necessary equipment.
The fire station consists of three functional units.
On the ground floor there are garages for emergency vehicles (three in total), including exhaust from the Plymovent company, cloakroom, showers and sanitary facilities, a warehouse for breathing equipment and emergency survival, a workshop, a warehouse for hazardous substances and a hose drying tower.
The mezzanine floor consists of a lecture hall with a capacity of 100 people and a kitchen.
On the first floor there are two bedrooms, three offices and a living room for the team.
In addition to the members of the volunteer fire brigade unit, the opening ceremony is also attended by representatives of the Prague – Dubeč district, headed by Mayor Jaroslav Tošil and a representative of the City of Prague, headed by Mayor MUDr. Zdeněk Hřib and Deputy Mayor and Councilor for Security Ing. Petr Hlubuček.
The director of the IRS and City Services Department also congratulated the fire brigade and the city district on their new facilities. m Prague Col. Ing. František Los. After short speeches, the award was presented by the mayor Mgr. Karel Polák, MBA members of the corps, unit and representatives of the city district, who participated most in the whole construction project, then the tape was cut and the construction was handed over to the unit commander Radoslav Mlejnek, firefighters will start to intervene just now – from 12. February 2022.
This was followed by a view of the building and a short snack. For the city district of Prague – Dubeč, this is a significant shift to increase the safety of the population.
