Germany has said no one can stop Ukraine from choosing defense alliances
He spoke with the German Defense Minister about his desire to receive additional support from this country.

Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov states that his German counterpart Christine Lambrecht confirms Ukraine’s right to choose its own defense alliances.
According to an UNIAN correspondent, Reznikov said this during the broadcast of the program “Freedom of Speech” on ICTV.
The head of the Defense Ministry of Ukraine spoke about a telephone conversation with his German counterpart Christine Lambrecht.
“I feel support for our territorial integrity and in accordance with our right to any defense alliance, no one has the right to veto,” Reznikov said.

Ukraine’s course on joining NATO
A communiqué following the last Alliance itself in Brussels on 14 June 2021 stated that Ukraine would become a member of NATO through the implementation of the Membership Action Plan.
US President Joe Biden has said that the occupation of part of Ukraine’s territory does not affect NATO membership, but Ukraine must be cleansed of corruption. He stressed that Ukraine must meet certain criteria in order to receive the MAP.
Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba called on NATO countries to provide Ukraine with a MAP in 2022.
On December 1, 2021, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that he wanted to receive guarantees from the West that Ukraine would not join NATO.
The Secretary General of the Alliance, Jens Stoltenberg, has repeatedly stressed that NATO will not make concessions to Russia on the issue of Ukraine’s accession to membership. According to him, Ukraine has the right to protection and together with NATO will determine the issue of membership in the Alliance.
