Football OM – OM: Pierre Ménès strikes down Marseille
OM won Sunday night in Metz a victory as precious in the standings as it is messy in the game.
Marseille continues. Winners of SCO Angers last weekend (5-2), Jorge Sampaoli’s players scored another success in Ligue 1 on Sunday evening, this time against Metz (1-2). In content, Olympique de Marseille delivered a work performance in Lorraine. In the aftermath of the Marseille victory, Jorge Sampaoli’s choices are particularly debated, such as the decision to put Arkadiusz Milik on the substitutes’ bench. Thus in his debrief, the journalist Pierre Ménès described as ” mess “ the organization of Olympique de Marseille, whose coach Jorge Sampaoli has again appointed certain players to grotesque positions in Metz, as is the case, for example, with Pape Gueye who played as a left-back.

OM too messy, Pierre Ménès expects better
“I’m going to incur the wrath of my Marseille friends but I didn’t like the OM match” made it clear Pierre Ménès, whose opinion is however shared by some of the Marseille supporters, before continuing. “You score a lucky but from a set piece, with Bakambu taking over a restrained header from Saliba and behind, you stop playing a bit and you let the Messins grow bolder. Lorraine who did not have such a bad game, by the way. It’s not the first time I’ve seen this this season, I have the impression that the Olympians no longer know where they play in this sort of organized – or disorganized – mess” he thinks before concluding. “So obviously, the talent of the players allows them to make the difference, with this header from Kolasinac which lands on the chest of Milik who continues with a beautiful return from the scorer. But I expect something else from a team ranked 2nd in Ligue 1” explained Pierre Ménès, for whom Marseille will have to raise their level of play in the final sprint of the championship in order to keep their place on the podium.
