Every Tesla fast charger in the Netherlands can now be used by all car brands
Tesla established a select number of Superchargers in the Netherlands at the beginning of November, open to other brands. This includes that you can charge with any electric car at a fast charging point of the company. That test is now extensive to all Superchargers in the country.
The Netherlands is one of the first countries where charging points are set up. The test is also underway in France and Norway. By opening the charging points, Tesla would generate more income.
Tesla will also receive a subsidy from the Norwegian government to install more fast charging points, provided they can be used for all electric cars.
The Netherlands is a frontrunner
The Netherlands is a frontrunner when it comes to charging stations. At the end of last year, only four countries in Europe offered more than 10 charging stations per 100 kilometres. In the Netherlands there are an average of 47.5 charging points per 100 kilometers.
Albert Heijn is going to place the dollars hundreds of extra fast chargers in the parking spaces in front of its supermarkets. Customers can then charge their car while doing their shopping. This year this will involve 120 fast chargers, but the supermarket chain hopes to have at least 2,000 charging points by 2025.
More charging points in Europe
In Europe, at least 65 million additional charging points must be added before 2035 to meet the demand, according to consultancy firm Ernst & Young and Eurolectric. Of that, about 10 million must be public. Peace becomes home.
