7 drivers caught under the influence during WODCA check | Antwerp
AntwerpLast weekend the traffic police WODCA actions in Antwerp. The teams caught 5 people driving under the influence of alcohol and 2 drivers under the influence of drugs.
The abbreviation WODCA stands for Weekend Accidents Through Controls Approach. In addition to breath and drug tests on drivers, the police did other evidence. “They caught a driver driving the car whose driver’s license had been revoked. In consultation with the park, cars are also immobilized. The police also immobilized a motorcycle whose driver did not have a driver’s license,” said Wouter Bruyns of the Antwerp police zone.
During the WODCA action, 7 drivers did not wear their seat belts. A cyclist and a pedestrian ignored the red traffic light. They have received a report. Finally, the officers lined up at three vehicles that had expired the inspection.
