Monaco upset by Lorient / Ligue 1 (J24)
AS Monaco lost two points at home this Sunday, following their draw against the poorly ranked Lorient (0-0, 24th day of Ligue 1).
AS Monaco did not perform well this Sunday at Louis II. Far from it, since Philippe Clément’s men neither knew nor could do better than a draw, goalless, against Lorient (0-0). The opportunity was however good to glean three additional points to return to contact in the fight for the qualifying places in the Champions League. But the Breton defense and goalkeeper resisted.

In front of their public, the Monegasques logically dominated throughout the meeting. Several chances followed one another from the first period, but Vanderson was initially too imprecise (4th, 13th), before Ben Yedder imitated him (28th). Vanderson again, framed for the first time, but failed on Dreyer (34th). Enough to join the break with a draw of 0-0.
Dreyer saves Lorient
Unable to strike the slightest time on goal in the second half, the Hakes continued to defend with the sole ambition of bringing the point back from a draw. Mission accomplished since Dreyer was decisive in front of the Breton cage against Jean Lucas (58th) and finally on a header from Ben Yedder (83rd). In the standings, Lorient temporarily retains its 17th place pending the matches of Metz, Bordeaux and Saint-Étienne, its three pursuers. Monaco fares the check mark and remains 6th.
