BASKETBALL: Amiens overthrows Paris BA at the end of the match
L’ASCBB won 81-79 after a close end to the game.
The Amiens smoke the match from the right end. There is a lot of activity on both sides and the Picards create an interesting gap after 5 minutes (13-5). But the Parisians are starting to get whistles and take the opportunity to start a comeback: 15-13 with 3 minutes remaining in the quarter. The locals reinstall a defensive lock for the end of the quarter and has a 6-point lead after 10 minutes of play (19-13). In the second act, the Samarians chained two good possessions but Paris once again takes advantage of free throws to stay in the game (23-22). As in the first quarter, the ASCBB ended the period stronger, even if the visitors saw the gap (36-33).
The third quarter is similar to the first two, Amiens stay ahead and Paris survive thanks to free throws (47-43; 5′). Fred Domon’s players add to widen the gap and once again it’s at the end of the quarter that they do it, which allows them to lead 64-53 before the start of the last act.
The Parisians, who have not given up, put on their strengthsmultiplying the passages on the free throw line. The Paris BA gradually reduces the gap (76-73; 4’20). The people of Ile-de-France get an end to the match where they can hope for a hold-up, after running behind the score all match… But Amiens doesn’t give up and stays in contact. Fighting, throwing themselves on all the balloons, the Amiens offer themselves a last possession 25.4 seconds from the end. Florent Ramseyer takes care of it and gives his side a two-point lead (81-79; 3.7s). Paris has a final shot but Amiens, in place defensively, secures its victory: 81-79.
