Head to Monaco for the Chanel show

On Thursday May 5, 2022, Chanel will present its cruise show in Monaco. Gabrielle Chanel used to go there, she had her villa La Pausa built there in 1929 on the heights of Roquebrune-Cap-Martin a few kilometers from the mythical Principality. Karl Lagerfeld also made it a favorite place. Every summer, he put his suitcases down at La Vigie, one of his main vacation spots. This destination is also a nod to Charlotte Casiraghi, the daughter of Caroline de Monaco, spokesperson and ambassador for the house since last year. A recognized rider, she opened the Chanel spring-summer 2022 haute couture show on horseback, which was held at the Grand Palais in Paris on January 25, 2022. CG

Valentino’s Loco

Valentino

Garavani Loco, the new bag from Valentino.

Valentino / Photo Press

At the dawn of spring, Valentino launches its new bag. Her name ? Loco, in which we must see the diminutive of locomotive, whose lines of the vehicle directly inspired the compact and elongated design of the accessory. Endowed with a retro look, it plays companions on the road, both as a clutch and over the shoulder thanks to its two golden handles. Finally, impossible not to identify it at first glance: its lacquered leather available in pink, yellow and black, separated from the “V” signature of the label. Enough to give a boost to the winter wardrobe! BM

Tommy Jeans and his incredible talents

Tommy Jeans

Tommy Jeans presents its new spring 2022 campaign entitled “Play to Progress”.

Tommy Jeans / Photo Press

“Play to progress”. This is the name of the new Tommy Jeans Spring-Summer 2022 campaign by Tommy Hilfiger. Singer Tems, avatar Imma and BMX cyclist BikeLifeRex are featured. These three “futuremakers” from all over the world bring the “Play to Progress” spirit to life through music, gaming and street culture. The project is divided into three chapters in which each talent is told through the vision of a different photographer. All the protagonists of the campaign wear the Chicago reversible jacket, characterized by the brand’s emblematic colors. BM

A relaxing break at the new Clarins Spa at the Brach hotel

Clarins Spa

The Clarins spa moved to the Brach hotel.

Clarins / Photo Press

The Brach Spa (Paris 16th arrondissement) is getting a makeover. The 5-star hotel imagined by designer Philippe Starck has joined forces with Clarins to offer a bubble of well-being to its customers and to Parisians looking for relaxation. Nestled on the same floors as the bedrooms, the three cabins (including a double) plunge us directly into a soothing wooded and subdued atmosphere. The various treatments and massages performed (relaxing or energizing) combine the powers of plants and the sensoriality of aromatic oils signed Clarins. To prolong the experience, you can bask in the hot water pool or take a dip in the 22-meter swimming pool. VH

Clarins Spa at the Brach Hotel (1-7 Rue Jean Richepin, 75016 Paris). Treatments and massages from €160 for 60 minutes. Reservations on www.brachparis.com.

Penciling your Vans is allowed…

Vans X Crayola

Vans and Crayola have come up with a colorful collection for the whole family.

Vans X Crayola / Photo Press

And even encouraged! After a first collaboration in 2010, Vans and Crayola are back with a collection of shoes, clothes and accessories to pencil. The canvases of Vans’ iconic sneakers are revisited with playful prints taken from coloring books, not to mention the rubber sole which is also ready to finish high in color. For the most creative, some blank canvas pairs are just waiting for their artist to be able to reveal all their originality. In short, it’s time to reveal his hidden talents! BM

Available February 18 on vans.fr and at Vans outlets.

Clogs to wear without blushing

Eres X Scholl

Eres and Scholl launch a collection of clogs.

Eres X Scholl / Photo Press

It (often) happens that opposites attract, and unbelievably, this can lead to unexpected collaborations. This is the demonstration that we are doing for the Eres lingerie brand by teaming up with Scholl, whose spiked-soled sandals we remember. On the occasion of the “X” exhibition, the spring event at Le Bon Marché, the two labels have taken up the challenge of creating a collection of clogs together. Comfortable, necessarily, flat or with heels, the clogs composed of a beech wood sole and a leather upper have been brought up to date with an artistic direction that aligns with that of Eres. BM

100 pieces available at Bon Marché, 24 Rue de Sèvres 75007 Paris, for the X exhibition from February 12 to April 24, 2022.

The exhibition that gives new life to waste

Thank you exhibition

“Fixing Things Up”, Merci’s new exhibition.

Thank you / Photo Press

What to do with objects and clothes that are no longer useful? The “Repairing things” exhibition that the Parisian concept store Merci is hosting until April 3 gives some food for thought. Through several unique works created by Ido Ferber, Piet Hein Eek, Martine Persault and Isabelle Van Oost, among others, she has highlighted the recycling and reuse of materials in creative pieces. You will find habits made from second-hand fabrics or even furniture (reassembled crockery, objects made from old fabrics or even lights made from plastic bottles). This exhibition will also unveil a collaboration of the Parisian address with Le Pavé as well as the “Joining bottles” project by Micaella Pedros, both of which are working to reuse plastic waste. CG

Thank you, 111 boulevard Beaumarchais, 75011, Paris.

Burc Akyol, the new talent to follow

Burc Akyol

This 100% bronze bustier is inspired by Janet Jackson’s cover for Rolling Stone magazine in 1993.

Burc Akyol

Burc Akyol, a young French designer of Turkish origin, revealed his spring-summer 2022 collection last December. On the program: a whole variety of styles, colors and materials intended for both men’s and women’s wardrobes. The emblematic piece of this 32-year-old designer: a bronze bustier depicting two large hands concealing the chest. A work inspired by a photo of Janet Jackson for the magazine cover rolling stone, in 1993.
