Easing of health measures in the Principality
Among the relaxations: the end of wearing a mask outdoors.
The relief was long overdue! From this Saturday, February 12, the health system in place in the Principality will be relaxed. The National Council had made a request to this effect on Thursday, February 10; the elected officials met this Friday morning with the Prince’s Government to take stock.
Several decisions were made:
- Wearing a mask will no longer be compulsory outside, except in places with high traffic, such as on the Place du Palais, at the time of the changing of the guard, in the markets, or even at the exit of the station and at stops. bus during rush hour.
- The health pass will no longer be required to access hairdressing salons and beauty and tattoo parlours.
- The relaxation of the protocol for managing contact cases in schools is under study. It should be operational at the start of the winter holidays, when the screening campaign will be renewed. Experiments with air purifiers in establishments will be planned.
- School swimming lessons will resume at the start of the school year.
- Teleworking is maintained at the rate of three days a week, when possible, until March 4. Breaks between unmasked colleagues are still prohibited.
- Gauges limited to 2,000 people for public events will be abolished, provided that a relevant health protocol is put in place.
- The number of guests at the table in the restaurants goes back to twelve people instead of eight; the distance between the tables is reduced to one meter instead of one and a half meters.
- Economic aid is extended until the end of March.
The situation is improving
A battery of measures taken due to a marked improvement in the health situation. As a reminder, in one week, the incidence rate fell by 36% in Monaco, and by 33% in the Alpes-Maritimes.
France has also announced the reduction of its health protocol in schools this Friday morning, with less frequent self-tests and the end of wearing a mask outdoors. From February 28, in France, the mask will no longer be compulsory in closed places subject to the vaccination pass, and people with contact cases will no longer have to carry out only one test, compared to three at present.
Nevertheless, the Prince’s Government still calls for vigilance. He also offered to distribute doses of Novavax vaccines as soon as distribution begins in France, in principle from February 21.
The Government has also specified that depending on the positive evolution of the indicators, the health system could be further reduced in the near future, particularly in the school environment.
