Amir Khan likes Tommy Fury’s chances against Jake Paul
Tommy Fury still hopes to secure a fight with Jake Paul this year.
Amir Khan has supported Tommy Fury to get past Jake Paul if the singing rivals ever meet.
The couple were to meet at the end of last year, but those plans were thwarted when Fury suffered an injury during camp. A rescheduled match has not been completed but it is likely that the pair will renew hostilities at some point due to the length of their verbal quarrel.
Khan, who is currently in America to prepare for his own bad clash against Kell Brook, I’m fully aware of what’s happened between Fury and Paul. When he looks at distance, the former world champion has monitored the situation and he would favor Fury to go victorious and has advised him to take the shot that stopped Tyron Woodley in December.
“Tyron obviously got a good shot, which can happen in boxing. He’s not really a boxer, he’s an MMA fighter. You know, as MMA fighters, they do not hit really hard,” Khan said when he spoke to Professional boxing fans.
“It’s more about takedowns and everything else. I think he was just caught with a good shot, really.
“Well, I think Tommy would have taken that shot and given a lot more back, or maybe would have hit him with some shot. I mean, look, in boxing, anything can happen. Just feel that Tommy would point him out.”
