Tree pruning in via Pistoiese: the new phase begins in Florence
Tree pruning continues in via Pistoiese. The operations involving a total of over 350 plane trees are divided into successive phases with circulation measures that change, depending on the stretch of the interventions. These are parking bans, carriageway narrowings, alternating one-way streets and transit bans that will affect the passability of the road until the end of the interventions which, in any case, will be completed by March.
The invitation to citizens is renewed to use alternative roads both to and from Florence: for those heading towards the city by detouring already before the San Donnino roundabout passing through via Curzio Malaparte-via Pratese; for the main route out of the city the route is viale Gori-via Basili-via Palagio degli Spini.
In detail, on Monday 31 January the pruning on the trees located along the main entrance to the city from via Campania to via Umbria will start. These interventions, carried out during the day, and continue for about three weeks with a series of sub-phases articulated according to the section concerned. It starts with the trees between via Campania and via Friuli which consequently will be closed to traffic from 9 to 18.30. Residents and frontists heading towards the section closed but not affected by pruning (from via Umbria to via Friuli) will be able to use the route via Campania-via di San Donnino-via Nave di Brozzi-via Friuli.
Following the operations will move to the section via Friuli-via Nave di Brozzi with an alternative itinerary for residents and frontists directed in the section from via Nave di Brozzi to via Umbria from via Friuli-via Umbria with reversal of the direction of travel in both roads .
The next sub-phase involves interventions on the trees in the stretch from via Nave di Brozzi to via della Sala. Alternative itinerary for direct residents / frontists in the stretch of via Pistoiese between via della Sala and via Umbria from via Nave di Brozzi-via Lazio-via della Sala. The last sub-phase will concern the plants of the section via della Sala-via Umbria. For residents and front-runners in the section following via Umbria in the direction of the center, use the path in reverse direction) -via Lombardia-via Pistoies internal-via Umbria. In these phases there are also no parking bans in the sections concerned from time to time.
On Sunday the pruning will be carried out on the stretch from the municipal border roundabout to via Campania (6 and 13 February with the possibility of extending to 20 February if necessary). A ban on transit is foreseen for vehicles over 35 quintals already from via Curzio Malaparte and for other vehicles from the San Donnino roundabout to via Campania. For the first alternative itinerary from via Malaparte-via del Cantone-via Lucchese; for the other via di Brozzi-via Goluvobich-via Pistoiese.
Pay attention to the deviations of public transport, in particular the bus line 35 of Autolinee Toscane in the direction of Florence which, during working hours 9-18.30 (until February 15), will not pass through via Pistoiese but on the itinerary via Campania-via di San Donnino-via Lazio-via della Sala-via Lombardia-via Pistoiese internal-via Umbria-via Pistoiese.
Once the city entrance route has been completed, the pruning will affect the city exit route.
The schedule may be subject to changes based on weather conditions.
