The investigations, long required by urban security officials, suddenly accelerated this Saturday, at the beginning of the afternoon, avenue de Lespinet, in the Montaudran sector in Toulouse.
That day, the police follow a motorist and end up arresting him when he commits a traffic violation. As they expected, the investigators discovered 8 kg of cannabis resin and 3 kg of grass in his vehicle…. They believe that this man will deliver drugs to customers, on behalf of a very well tied.
Social networks at the heart of the system
Following this first arrest, the police were able to confirm several hypotheses. This man and his accomplices used many applications installed on their phones to organize everything. Thanks to Snapchat, Telegram and Whatsapp messengers, the traffickers ensured the promotion of their narcotic products and the taking of orders. When the customer paid the money, a delivery man went to an apartment transformed into a storage warehouse. He loaded up his car and headed for the meeting place.
This system, which had been operating for several weeks, finally ended over the weekend. Saturday evening, the police arrested seven other people, suspected of belonging to this same network. Individuals aged 20 to 27. “During the searches, they also got their hands on 25 kg of resin, 285 grams of cocaine, cash and a long weapon”, specifies Samuel Vuelta-Simon, the prosecutor.
All the protagonists were heard during long hours in police custody. Six of them were brought before the Toulouse prosecutor’s office. Further investigations are continuing under the direction of an investigating judge. Pending the conclusions of the investigation, the six suspects are indicted and imprisoned.
