The Prime Minister Janez Janša met with the management of the Heraldica Slovenica association
Today, Prime Minister Janez Janša met with the leadership of the Heraldica Slovenica association. The meeting with the Prime Minister was attended by the President of the Association Aleksander Hribovšek and a member of the Board of Directors of the Association Anže Hobič. They talked about the work of the association, the role it plays in Slovenian society, and the bill on state symbols, which the association has prepared to regulate this area in a more systematic and transparent way.
The association notes that in practice it has been shown that the regulation in this area, namely the Coat of Arms, Flag and Anthem of the Republic of Slovenia and the Flag of the Slovenian Nation Act, the Decree on the Use of the European Union Flag and Anthem in the Republic of Slovenia, on the display of the flag of the Republic of Slovenia in educational institutions and to a lesser extent in the Protection of Public Order and Peace Act causes great confusion in its interpretation, as the legislation is not determined in a very systematic or transparent manner. Therefore, it would be sensible to regulate the entire scope of the state symbols themselves and in connection with other symbols with a single umbrella law without unnecessary implementing regulations.
