“Reports have been provided about what took place on the evening of January 27 in an armed outbreak on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border.
The Foreign Ministry added that, in the end, agreements were reached between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan on the consumption of fuel and the withdrawal of armed forces at the border.
“We support the appeal of the General Organization of the United Nations Collective Security Treaty Stanislav Zas to Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan with a call to make a decision on the contradiction of the exceptional global status of the investigation,” the diplomatic department added.
On Thursday, the border service of Kyrgyzstan announced the beginning of a shootout between Kyrgyz and Tajik border guards. According to the agency, the Tajik side arrested grenades and mortars. The emergence of the conflict was the overlap of Tajik military roads connecting the Kyrgyz cities of Isfana and Batken. The clashes lasted for several hours, the truce reached its peak after a meeting of representatives of the two countries around 00:00 Moscow time on January 28.
