Politicians are also positive about the new building in Salzburg – Hockey-News.info
It was announced yesterday that an announced arena is to be built in Salzburg (we reported), now the plans are being announced piece by piece.
After 62 years, the venerable Salzburg Volksgarten is said to have had its day. The Red Bulls have been among the best addresses in the domestic ice hockey scene for years, but the arena doesn’t really reflect that.
Those responsible for the Bulls now want to change that and gradually build a modern hall with several ice rinks in the Volksgarten area. The city itself has nothing but positive things to say about the project. “We have only had positive experiences with Red Bull and would welcome a necessary modernization of the ice arena,” Salzburg Mayor Harald Preuner told the Salzburger Nachrichten and continued, “The project is still in a very early stage. First Red Bull has to clarify everything internally and then we’ll see. We as a city are in no hurry, Red Bull has the ball.”
With such a large project, there are still many unanswered questions. Which traffic concept is being developed? How to solve the parking lot situation and to what extent are the residents affected?
But the state sports council is also confident: “We don’t know any details yet, but it’s basically an exciting project.” It’s not yet clear by when this plan should be implemented, but the financing should already have been fixed. Two thirds of the costs apply to the city and country, the rest would be covered by Red Bull.
