Mr Lukashenko has said he will not fight in Ukraine
Unrecognized by Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, after receiving a message to the Belarusian people and the National Assembly, answering questions from the National President that in cases of possible war with Ukraine, the Belarusian army is not fighting in Ukraine.

“I will not send to another’s territory (military – ed.), We will not fight,” – said Lukashenko, answering questions about the possibility of involving the Belarusian military in the army in Ukraine.
However, in the phrase before that he mentioned the war on foreign soil. “Our army was created to defend itself on our territory. They will come to kill – they will get the full reel in our and foreign territory. We will never be a source of war,” Lukashenko said.
In addition, in his address to the people and parliament of Belarus, Lukashenko promised to provide military support to Russia if its territory is attacked.
Lukashenko too claimsthat it is important for the West to “drown in blood the Russian-Ukrainian brotherhood, our Slavic brotherhood”.
“But we are native Slavic peoples, descended from a single baptismal font. Our roots are from the depths of the ages. And this must be preserved, at all costs. According to Ukrinform, on Monday Lukashenko stated that he was dragging “a whole contingent of the Belarusian army” to the border with Ukraine, that “Ukrainians have begun to draw troops there.”
Earlier, on January 19, he said that the joint Belarusian-Russian exercises, which are planned to be held in Belarus in February, will work out the confrontation in the western (Poland, Baltic) and southern (Ukraine) regions.
It was later clarified that these exercises would be the final stage of a surprise test of the response forces of the Union State of Russia and Belarus. The terms of the Russian-Belarusian exercise “Union Determination” are set as February 4-20.
In the West, experts have several possible options for Russian aggression against Ukraine. the need for published US intelligence documents that Russia could organize an invasion with the participation of battalion tactical groups, or 175 thousand servicemen. About 50 such groups have already been deployed near Ukraine in the north and east, as well as in the Crimea in the south. Russian troops may also advance from Belarus.
