Sold the used boat to Denmark
Low prices in Norway and high prices in Europe can make it profitable to sell the boat internationally, an anonymous seller has learned.
It is well known that Dutch people buy old plastic carpenters in Norway that are competitive in price, despite the fact that the buyer has to VAT the boat into the EU.
Used prices have increased slightly in Norway since Covid-19, but less than in the EU. More people want to holiday at home, and it is almost impossible to buy a new boat due to increased demand and international delivery problems.
Sold on Boat24.com
– I bought a new used sailboat in the late summer, and had my 34-footer from the 70s on finn.no and Boat24.com sent this autumn, says an anonymous reader of SEILmagasinet. Find gave several clicks, but it was Boat24.com who got the boat sold to a Danish sailor.
– Finn needs a little competition. On Boat24.com, it is cheaper to leave the ad for a long time, says the boat salesman. It costs 312 kroner for 30 days on Finn.no, and 529 kroner for the same time on Boat24, but only 250 kroner a month if you leave it for 90 days.

Internationally labeled
It will not be a fair comparison based on an ad, but the statistics from Finn and Boat24 about the old 34-footer can give an interesting indication. The ads were published at the turn of the month October / November and have been lying until now.
– I reached out internationally with boat24, and received serious inquiries from Sweden, Finland, Germany and the Netherlands in addition from Denmark, the seller says.
– I first received an inquiry from Finn this New Year, Norwegians are impulse people, the seller thinks. He believes that used prices will increase in Norway in the future.
There are many indications that Norwegian sailboat buyers are looking for newer used boats, something that is hardly found in the used market.
Great interest, low selection
There are many indications that the second-hand price is rising. The selection of used sailboats on Finn.no is miserable, while the interest is great. On Wednesday 26 January, there are only 90 used sailboats, while two were published that day. At Boat24, the selection is much larger. Here there are over 300 used sailboats, but at higher prices and what you are used to seeing in Norway.
Finn.no reports a large increase in traffic. The increase is as much as 37 percent compared to last year, which was also good. Norboat interprets this as meaning that boat interest remains high and that the industry can meet good times in 2022 as well.
