REGION: The 2022 budget has been adopted
This Thursday, January 26, the elected representatives of the Burgundy-Franche-Comté regional council spoke out on the main file of the day, the original 2022 budget, sometimes having to put their nuances aside.
After ten hours of debate, the regional council of Bourgogne-Franche-Comté adopted this Thursday, January 26, 2022 the initial budget for 2022 amounting to 1.86 billion euros. The socialist Marie-Guite Dufay, president of the community, stressed that, in the other Regions, this kind of vote lasted “half a day”, while she wanted, in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, to emphasize on “internal democracy”.
In fact, each group was able to explain its vote at length, including in the nuances whether on the side of the opposition or the components of the majority.
The groups of Gilles Platret (Union of Republicans and Center and Independent Ecologists) and Julien Odoul (National Rally) voted against. No one abstained. The group of Denis Thuriot (Elected progressives) joined the groups of Muriel Ternant (Elected communists and republicans), Claire Mallard (Ecologists and solidarity) and Jérôme Durain (Our region by heart) to vote in favor.
The regional majority of Marie-Guite Dufay thus had the budget adopted with broad support and the support of the elected representatives of the presidential majority, while the communists and ecologists postponed the debates on the points of tension which to this Friday to address the end of the SNCF monopoly on passenger service, which in May to discuss the energy mix.
After the vote, Marie-Guite Dufay warmly thanked the directors and agents of the services for the work carried out since September in order to prepare the technical elements allowing the debate. Most regional elected officials added their applause to the president’s thanks.
