Dog excrement in public space is a long-term problem, but it has been significantly improved in recent years. Nevertheless, the City Hall of Prague 5 recalls the obligation of dog owners to remove pollution.

“Of course we understand that the more baskets, the more likely it is that the dog owner will use them. That is why we regularly increase the number of these baskets. On the other hand, each dog owner must arrange for his own cleaning and resources. Sometimes we come across the opinion that if I pay a fee for a dog, we take care of the city for excrement. But it is not so. We want clean streets and parks and it is also the responsibility of every dog owner, “recalls Lubomír Brož, Deputy Mayor of the Prague 5 District for Public Space, Greenery and the Environment.
There are currently 238 dog excrement baskets in Prague 5. In addition, the most exposed places, such as Smíchov, the Barrandov housing estate and part of Radlice, are regularly cleaned with a vacuum cleaner. The town hall also reminds that bags for dog excrement are available for free collection at the receptions of the district office at Štefánikova street 13, 15 and nám. October 14. Excrement can also be collected in any bag or paper and disposed of in ordinary waste bins or municipal waste bins.
