Portugal cases reach new maximum with 65,706 of covid-19 in 24 hours
The internments, in turn, the solution. According to today’s bulletin from the Directorate-General for Health (DGS), 2249 patients are hospitalized (64 than the previous day), of which 147 are in intensive care units (seven less than the day before).
Since Wednesday, a further 23,498 people have recovered from the disease, bringing the total number of recoverers to 1,865,651. There are still a further 42,167 active cases and a further 26,878 contacts under surveillance. In total, Portugal now has 558,129 actives and 573,235 contacts under surveillance, which means that 1,131,364 Portuguese are in isolation.
Of the total number of new cases, 27,594 were registered in the northern region, 18,590 in Lisbon and Vale do Tejo, 11,430 in the central region, 2,883 in the Algarve and 2,713 in the Alentejo. A further 1,552 infections were confirmed in Madeira and 944 in the Azores.
Regarding deaths, 17 were reported in Lisbon and Vale do Tejo, 15 in the region, four in the center, three in the north in Alentejo and two in the Algarve.
The insufficiency at the national level is currently at 5728.4 cases of covid-19 per 100 million inhabitants. If we count only mainland Portugal, this indicator is situated in 5683.5 cases per 100 thousand inhabitants.

Since the first case of Covid-19 was identified in Portugal, 2,443,524 infections and 19,744 deaths associated with the disease have already been confirmed.
