A young man in his twenties, who came to attack several people with a knife, was wounded by a gun in the shoulder, Wednesday evening rue Paul-Bert near Place Pierre-Simon – Ballanche, in the Guillotière district in Lyon (3rd).

Under circumstances and for reasons that remain unclear, an altercation broke out between four individuals, also in their twenties, who had escaped from a car and a young man who ran towards them brandishing a knife .

Hit in the shoulder

According to our information, two of the individuals walked away, while the other two pulled out handguns. One of them then shot the man with a knife, who was hit in the shoulder, then the four individuals fled.

Although injured, the man with the knife attacked a 30-year-old man, without injuring him, before being arrested by the municipal police. He was placed in police custody, then transported to the Lyon Sud hospital. Three individuals, suspected of being part of the shooter’s group, were arrested shortly after and taken into custody.

No weapon was found and the shooter is believed to be on the run. An investigation has been opened by the 3rd arrondissement police station.

Last September, a man was shot and wounded in the Gambetta course, targeted by shooters who had fled on a motorcycle.
