The Helsinki Wolverines from Finnish Maple League have given notice of signature American wide receiver Clinton Allen Jr.
Allen spent last season Finland as well as winning Finnish Division 1 with the championship Eagle Eagles. He led all the recipients of the championship by grabbing six passes for 106 yards and two touchdowns. Eagles 35-20 wins Tampere Saints.
6’2 “, 220 pounds wide, Allen is originally from Seattle and played at Saddleback Junior College in California before with him Eagles. His only season at Saddle back, In 2017, he recorded 76 catches for 1,218 yards and 10 touchdowns.
The Ahmat hope Allen will help them improve from last season to fifth place.
He made a lasting impression Ahmat‘head coach Michael Mattingly in 2021, when Eagles wrinkled Helsinki before the start of the season. Now inside Helsinkihe is set to step up Ahmat‘passing attack alongside quarterback Jabari Harris and receiver RJ Long.
Coach Mattingly was excited to add Allen to the team:
“Clinton is a huge addition to our team. He’s a big wide receiver, very athletic, can stretch the field and win almost every jump ball. We knew this was very important to us because we had to improve the position of the wide receiver. After last season’s fight, he stood out from the crowd and continued We now have the right mix of players with a wide receiver and we are ready by 2022.
Allen is excited to join Ahmat:
“I joined Wolverines to bring the winning culture back to Helsinki and I also saw how stacked the team was and who wouldn’t want to play for these guys! I am really looking forward to working with my old teammate Noam (Calvache)! Also Jabari Harris! I watched a couple of games he played last year, and the way he threw the ball and extended the playing time was another deciding factor.
An interesting twist for this season is that Eagles has been promoted Maple League after winning their league championship last year. That means Allen has a chance to play against his former teammates this year.
“It’s going to be a bittersweet moment. It was the only team that believed I could still play last year, so I’ll be forever grateful for that.
