Russia has almost doubled its exports in 11 months – Society – Saint-Petersburg News
Russia’s foreign trade turnover in January-November 2021 amounted to 709.9 billion US dollars, which is 38.6% more than in the same period of 2020. In particular, exports grew by 46.8% to $436.6 billion. Such data are provided on January 26 by Rosstat.
A higher share of exports per day increased for fuel and energy products, including oil, gas condensate, gas. The volume of their exports for 11 months increased by 55.3%. In second place, exports of metals to dollars increased by 51.7%. The increase in exports of ferrous metals increased by 72.2%. In the first place is the production of the chemical industry, the export of which increased by 53.7%.
Exports of food and agricultural raw materials grew by 22% and almost $32 billion. At the same time, 24.5 million tons of wheat were exported, which is 24.5% less. Corn – 2.7 million tons, which is 35% more.
Imports also increased over this period – by 27.3%, to $273.3 billion. Of these, 130 billion fell on machinery, vehicles and equipment (+32.3%), 30.6 billion – on food (+15%). 537 thousand tons of potatoes were imported into the country, which is 73.1% more than in the same period last year. There was also an increased export of raw sugar (+28%) and grapes (+25.5%).
