Equipment intended for the protected neonatal transport service, a highly specialized team
from Corriere Fiorentino editorial staff
A new super incubator for the latest generation of transport arrives at the Meyer pediatric hospital in Florence, thanks to the donation of the Fiorenzo Fratini Onlus Foundation. The incubator, explains a note, intended for the protected neonatal transport service, a highly specialized Meyer health team: thanks to the high standards, this cradle allows you to reach the little patients in other hospitals, to start the therapies on the spot and then transfer them to Florence for the necessary treatments. It will then be possible to accompany them back, with the same incubator, to the territorial structures when their clinical picture is improved and stabilized. This cradle can also be used for the transport of small positive Covid patients: a feature that makes it even more precious in the current period. The thermo-cradle, in addition to guaranteeing a high standard of comfort for the newborn, allows the delivery of the most modern assisted ventilation techniques (invasive and non-invasive), the monitoring of vital parameters and the therapies necessary for stabilization. it is also able to provide humidified mechanical ventilation, suitable for premature babies, who need medical gases to be heated. We are grateful to the Fratini Foundation for their closeness and friendship – explains Alberto Zanobini, general manager of Meyer -. This new incubator allows us to count on additional support for the delicate operations of transferring babies to the Meyer and an extra piece at the service of the care of the very small ones. The cradle symbolically delivered today in the presence of the president of the Foundation, Giovanna Cammi Fratini, of Corrado, Marcello and Paola Fratini and of the general management of the hospital.
