Charlene young, in love… This nostalgic video posted for the birthday of the Princess of Monaco
Childhood in South Africa, sporting prowess, romance with Albert II of Monaco… The Prince’s Palace and the Charlene de Monaco Foundation unveiled an original video montage, made up of vintage photos of the Princess, on Tuesday January 25, at the occasion of his 44th birthday.
She returned to the Principality in November 2021, after a stay of several months in South Africa. Since then, Charlene of Monaco has not reappeared in public. Her husband, Prince Albert II, revealed, at the same time, that the princess had been admitted to a specialized establishment, because of “not only physical fatigue, which can only be treated by a period of rest and by follow-up.
The mother of twins Jacques and Gabriella of Monaco, aged 7, was therefore 44 years old away from the Rock, this Tuesday, January 25. The Prince’s Palace and its charitable foundation have always paid tribute to the Princess in a video montage revealed on Facebook. A three-minute sequence, which traces the life and work of the former professional swimmer.
“You always give of yourself”
We see vintage photos – embellished with various and varied filters – of the princess following one another against a background of classical music, and a multitude of landscapes. Polaroids that bear witness to his childhood in South Africa, his Olympic prowess, his meetings with world leaders, but also his love affair with Prince Albert II, his family outings and his commitment charity.
“Happy birthday, Princess Charlene, can we read in the caption of the video. We honor you for the way you always give of yourself to change the lives of people around the world, and celebrate your inspirational passion and commitment to saving and changing lives.” A message that Albert of Monaco’s wife hastened to share on her Instagram account, embellishing it with a heart emoji. If the recovery of the princess has so far proved “satisfactory and encouraged”, “her recovery should still take a few months”, explained the princely palace at the end of December.
