Winter Olympics: another Hungarian speed skater tested positive for viruses
Budapest – After Olympic, world and European champion Liu Shaoang, Alex Varnyú also hopes to join the Olympic team later.
Alex Varnyú, a short-distance speed skater preparing for the Beijing Olympics, tested positive for corona virus on Tuesday morning.
It is hoped that a contestant named for a shift will later be able to travel to China as a man.
On Monday, it was revealed that Olympic, world and European champion Liu Shaoang also gave a positive Covid test.
According to the announcement of the Hungarian federation on Tuesday, Varnyú – like Liu Shaoang – will continue to prepare for the Olympics asymptomatically, under load, and under constant supervision. A negative test result produced for five consecutive days is required for their start.
The professional and medical staff constantly monitors the health of all team members and is prepared for every opportunity for the optimally selected national team to start in Beijing.
On Wednesday morning, with the exception of the two involved, the short-track delegation will travel to the Chinese capital.
