Going back in time, 2002 was a turning point for the Czech Radio building in Karlín. At that time, a flood swept through Prague and the lower floors of the house and forced extensive reconstruction. After this renewal, the broadcasting studio has remained in the same form until now, only the technologies have changed.

The current reconstruction, solved in addition to the new design, also the layout and especially the new technological furniture and acoustic improvements. The resonant panels and bass traps replaced the earlier walls with acoustic plasterboard. The modern technology table is elevated, which means that moderators can handle standing broadcasts.

Audio technology did not change, but the studio received a new version of the DHD mixing console. Its moderators will come as no surprise, only familiar ones with better versions.

The fresh design of the studio will offer a better background for broadcasts and interviews with guests. The colors correspond to the main color of the station and the waves symbolize the music. Part of the aesthetic transformation is also the creation of a chill out zone for moderators.

I hope that this year we will introduce the new broadcasting studio to you in person. If the current situation allows, we will open our premises as part of the Open House Prague event. The event has not taken place in the last two years, we are all the more looking forward to this year’s deadline of 21 and 22 May.
