About Crous Bourgogne-Franche-Comté
The Regional Center for University and School Works (Crous) in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, a State operator in terms of student life, has the mission of improving the living and study conditions of students, of promoting their fulfillment and to facilitate their journey towards autonomy and employment. It carries out its public service missions alongside all the students of the region in a strong dynamic of regional networking.
Established on three main sites: Dijon, Besançon and North Franche-Comté (Montbéliard and Belfort) and two branches: one in Creusot, the other in Nevers, it also offers an accommodation service in Auxerre. In a particularly dynamic region, rich in higher education and research establishments, the Crous is at the very heart of student life.
As part of social and financial support, the Crous manages the scholarships granted to students by the Government, according to social and family criteria. Social workers are present on the Campuses, to receive students, listen to them, inform them about the possibilities of assistance, and facilitate their procedures. For several years, as part of this local support necessary for the most precarious students, awareness-raising actions on health access and rights, health prevention, carried out with territorial partners, have been planned on the all university sites.
In terms of social accommodation, the Crous Bourgogne-Franche-Comté has 6,900 beds in 59 pavilions and university residences, real places of entertainment and exchanges, with work rooms, convivial spaces and shared gardens. . Regarding catering, the Crous Bourgogne-Franche-Comté has 33 catering structures (Resto U’, Cafet’ and Crous Truck’) for students offering quality meals at social prices, with a take-away catering offer available at all the sites.
Many other devices participate in the animation of student life at the Crous Bourgogne-Franche-Comté such as support for student initiatives, the implementation of an active cultural policy, thanks to the management of various places (theater or cinema) or the organization of cultural events and “creative competitions”. Finally, students can also benefit from many online services, including a “student employment service” offering part-time job offers for students wishing to work alongside their studies.
As close as possible to students, the Crous Bourgogne-Franche-Comté plays a real societal role in their life course.
