These are some of the innovations scheduled for January 30, 2022on the occasion of the third of seven ecological Sundays in Verona in the calendar until April 3.
After the initiative started on November 14, the Municipality’s awareness campaign towards sustainable mobility continues with a wide range of proposals to encourage the Veronese to leave their cars at home. The other Sundays on the calendar are set for February 20, March 13 and 20 and April 3.
The program
On the cultural front i Civic Museums offer for January 30 three free guided tours of the Museum of Frescoes at Juliet’s Tomb, paying only the entrance ticket. Info on dedicated pages. In addition to the complete free public transport throughout the municipal area, moments of information and training are offered on various issues related to the environment. The voluntary collection of waste in various points of the city has been reconfirmed with the Verona Active Citizenship Association and, from this Sunday, on the part of the Plastic Free Verona Group. Appointments are scheduled: for Citizenship active, at 10 am at Caritas in via Prato Santo 8, and then carry out the cleaning operation in the whole area, until 12 am. The appointments are suitable for volunteers of all ages. A similar initiative will be repeated in the waters of the Adige river on the rubber boats made available by the Canoa Club Verona, which adheres to ecological Sundays with the ‘Fiumeggiando’ project, or rather welcoming citizens who offer to clean up the river from waste on their own vehicles. The meeting is at 10 am at the Bottagisio Center in Chievo.
The free entrance to the Children’s Museum continues for the fun of the little ones. An opportunity for those who decide to reach the Museum in via Santa Teresa, leaving the car at the Verona Fiera car park, using sharing mobility, free public transport or on foot. In parallel, the information campaign of the Department of the Environment continues to raise awareness among citizens on how to reduce the production of atmospheric pollutants through daily behaviors: by modifying their methods of movement, improving and making the heating of buildings more efficient and, more generally, reducing the consumption of resources inside your home. These materials are available both on the Municipality website and in many of the municipal offices frequented by citizens.
Prize competition through the “Muoversi” App: the competition is open to all citizens who travel on foot, by bike, by scooter or by bus. The measurement of km traveled in sustainable way is counted starting from the activation of the App, each movement is equivalent to a total of points that doubles if done during the ecological Sunday. The winners will receive two tickets for free admission to one of the civic museums: Natural History Museum, Fresco Museum, Roman Theater, Maffeiano Museum, Modern Art Gallery.
